Refund Policy

TalkSocal records each order against a specific wishlist item so refund requests can be reviewed clearly and fairly.


1. Buyer statutory rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. Where applicable, Supporters have rights under:

  • UK: Consumer Rights Act 2015; Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
  • EU/EEA: Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU)
  • US: Applicable state consumer protection laws

Where applicable, Supporters have a right to cancel an online purchase within 14 calendar days of receiving goods (the "cooling-off period"), unless an exception applies.


2. Eligible for a refund

A Supporter may be eligible for a full or partial refund where:

  • The item was not received and no resolution was provided within a reasonable time
  • The item is materially different from its Listing description (wrong product, significant defect, or damaged on arrival)
  • A duplicate charge occurred due to a technical error
  • The order was cancelled by the Member or TalkSocal before fulfilment
  • The Supporter exercises a valid statutory 14-day cancellation right (where applicable)
  • Unauthorised activity is confirmed on your account

Where a refund is approved, TalkSocal will also recover the relevant portion from the Member's Payout balance.


3. Not eligible for a refund

Refunds will generally not be issued where:

  • The Supporter changed their mind after the statutory cooling-off period has expired
  • The item has been used, opened, or is no longer in its original condition
  • The item is personalised, custom-made, or involves a correctly fulfilled digital delivery
  • The request falls outside the timeframes below
  • The Transaction was completed outside TalkSocal's official payment system

4. Request timeframes

Situation Request window
Item not received Within 30 days of expected delivery date
Item not as described Within 14 days of receiving the item
Statutory cancellation right Within 14 days of receiving the item
Duplicate charge Within 30 days of the transaction date

5. How to request a refund

  1. Log in and navigate to Order History
  2. Select the relevant Transaction and choose Request Refund
  3. Describe the issue and attach supporting evidence (e.g. photos, delivery tracking)
  4. Submit your request

Alternatively, email support@talksocal.com with your order reference number and account email. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.


6. Disputes and escalations

If you are unsatisfied with a refund outcome, escalate to support@talksocal.com. We aim to provide a final decision within 10 business days. You retain the right to seek resolution through the courts of England and Wales, or through applicable consumer dispute resolution bodies in your jurisdiction.


7. Chargebacks

We strongly encourage contacting us before initiating a chargeback with your card provider — most issues can be resolved faster this way. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account suspension.
